John uses 35mm and digital equipment and was inspired to take up photography seriously by seeing the work of the great photographers like Cartier-Bresson and Brandt. John has worked as a press photographer, has had a lot of his work published and has taught photography.

His favourite subjects at present are live music photography and 'abstract' subjects. He is inspired by 'found objects' rather than studio set-ups.

John's photos of several recent gigs by Magazine are on the band's My Space site and also feature on their recent DVD release, Magazine, 'Real Life and Thereafter'.
